Escher Cats! – Catwoman #20!

This issue is admittedly a personal favourite issue (and is a multi-part story) because, well, there’s stuff about Catwoman’s morals and how they work, but there’s also digs at the film industry and a giant movie monster trying to kill Catwoman out in the jungle.

Seriously. There are hints of Jurassic Park and behind-the-scenes Apocalypse Now here. And the opening couple of pages where they turn out to be filming Lethal Honey III. Really.

Try to rescue hapless young want-to-be-movie-stars and they want your acting resume. And something with verrrry big claws wants you.

Seriously. That's not just slightly forced posing. Ouch.

I will admit this cover makes Catwoman look like she was grievously injured in her fall.

Her body looks so stiff. And also like none of the pieces really match up with each other in a way indicative of someone not grievously injured and who is actually free falling.

This cover is … not reflective of the interior art. And probably doesn’t bear looking at too long unless you want to suffer sympathy pains.

More movie monster to come next time and, as always, the Catwoman comics belong to DC, not me, and Escher Girls is the creation of the awesome Ami Angelwings. And the Escher Girls bingo card belongs to the Escher Girls fan who created it.
